The Business Institute developed a bespoke workshop on finance for non-financial managers, tailored for various levels of experts, managers of teams, and project leaders, with a strong practical focus and advisory elements. Emphasis was placed on hands-on exercises to transfer the learnt skills directly into practice.
In addition to the training sessions, The Business Institute conducted a pre-training assessment of participants’ existing knowledge and a post-training evaluation to measure the achieved results. The workshop, in operation since 2015, has so far been attended by over 150 employees of the company.
Key objectives of the workshop:
- Understanding financial statements and concepts (Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, Cash Flows, Depreciation, Accruals).
- Applying principles for recognising revenues and expenses.
- Analysing and managing key financial metrics (EBITDA, Gross Margin, Net Profit).
- Identifying opportunities for optimising inventory and managing working capital.
- Creating financial value and evaluating investment projects.
Target audience:The workshop was designed for non-financial managers and various levels of experts at Sensata Technologies, who play a role in making strategic and operational decisions related to performance and resource management. Participants also included team and project managers who often need to understand and interpret financial data.
